It is a rarity for wildlife and humanity to coexist in such close proximity as Nairobi and its National Park. This alone is a testament to the success of various conservation and community outreach projects in our community. The Emakoko prides itself in being actively involved in contributing to the livelihood of our people and wildlife.
The Kenya Wildlife Services is at the forefront of conserving and managing the well-being of Kenya’s unique wildlife. In support of protecting Kenya’s endangered Black Rhino in Nairobi National Park, we contribute a fee of USD$43 to the Kenya Wildlife Services for every guest staying with us. To date, we have raised over USD$982,000 in conservation fees.
We are actively involved in uplifting our communities by providing the necessary means for shelter, education and sports. The Emakoko assisted in building classrooms for The Emapakasi Primary School as well as supplying desks, stationery and teaching aids for a better learning environment. We are also proud supporters of our local football team and have donated balls, nets, uniforms and shoes to encourage sports as much as possible.

On the 11th of March 2020, the WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic. What happened over the next two years was beyond comprehension.
And so the extraordinary year of 2020 has finally drawn to a close. I have never been so happy to see the end of one year.
Another year has gone by and wow, what a year it has been. It has been very long, very worrying and very tiring.
